On  Response
9/23/2021 7:24 PM Here is interred

an honest woman, Mrs.

MIRIAM, wife of the honored

Simcha Shamash,

may he rest in peace. She went to her rest

at the departure of the day of rest, on the eve of

4 Tevet 5601.

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

===================================================
This stone is unusual in that it does not name the father of the deceased.

The family name seems to have been Shamash or possibly Shemesh or something similar.

She passed away after the end of the Sabbath, in other words on a Sunday, which was the eve of the 4th of Tevet, which was a Monday.

The 4th of Tevet of the year 5601 began at sunset on December 27th, 1840, and ended at sunset on the 28th.
