It came to pass in the village of Seroczyn on the 2nd of September 1857 at 11:00 AM that there appeared [before us] the Jew Idzko Osełka, a tanner, age 33, resident of the village of Oleśnica, and, in the presence of the witnesses the Jews Srol Rubinsztejn, potter, age 41, [and] Sanel Kotlarski, synagogue beadle [?], age 32, both residents of the village of Seroczyn, and showed us a child of male gender born in the village of Oleśnica on the 24th day of last month in the current year at 10:00 PM to his wife Laj[a] Rojza nee Rubinsztejn Osełkowa, age 33, who, at his circumcision, was given the name Szyja. This document was read out to the petitioner and the witnesses and was signed by the father and by Srol Rubinsztejn, the other witness being illiterate.
