I know this tombstone is in bad shape but hoping you can get something from it.

I have a death certificate with death 2 Aug 1912.
Given name Getzel.

Any help is appreciated.

As you say, this is difficult to read. Here is what I can make out:

Here lies

an honest and ______ man

the honored

GETZEL _______

son of

the honored Yitzchak [?]

He passed away the 19th of [Tevet] _____________

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

He had a two-part Hebrew name, the first part of which was Getzel. The second part begins with the letter Ayin. There are not that many names that begin with this letter. One possibility is Akiva.

His father's name, too, is partly faded. Based on what is visible, a strong possibility is Yitzchak (Hebrew for Isaac).

The date of death, too, is faded. I'm fairly confident of the 19, although it might be only a 9. The name of the month seems to begin with the letter Tet, and the only month that begins with this letter is Tevet, which is a winter month. The year of death cannot be read.

If you happen to know his secular date of death, I can figure out what the Hebrew date must be.
