This is, I believe, the marriage record of my relative Samuel Klein. I believe the entries that say Tokay relate to the place of their residence but perhaps it relates to place of birth? I am thinking it is a synagogue record, and would love to get a translation of the headers and title.

Some answers to your questions....

These appear to be wedding/marriage records of the Jewish Community in Tokaj, signed by Rabbi Dawid Schuck on February 28, 1875.

Here are translations of some of the words used in the columns and sub-columns:

Ho = month
Nap = date
Volegeny = groom, Volegenynek = of the groom
Neve = name
Lakasa = residence (probably at the current time)

The following column I cannot decipher. The word appears to be aranak or ananak, neither of which I recognize as the word for bride. The Hungarian word for mother (anya/anyanak) does not make particular sense here when one is expecting info on the bride.

However, might there be a second side or continuation to this page of documentation? If so, that might be helpful. Or, perhaps someone else can lend their help.

Jo, the "bride" column is indeed labeled _az arának_; _ara_ is an archaic word for "fiancée, a man's betrothed, bride". (No, I don't know why I know these sorts of things.)

To the person who responded with the translation of aranak...thank you. That all (sort of) makes sense. It got me thinking about the similar current words to the "archaic" used in the column. Arany meanns "gold", which could imply that a bride-to-be is as precious as gold. Another word, ara means "the price of". So, perhaps, in the older times it was politically correct to consider a bride to be valued as compared to an asset.

As was pointed out, the word used in the column is not used currently. How times have changed!

Jo, _ára_ "price [of something]", _ara_ "betrothed", and _arany_ "gold" are unrelated, although the etymological dictionary says that all three derive from ancient Uralic words possibly ultimately borrowed from ancient Iranian languages. The funny thing is that _ara_ was actually a neologist revival of the 17th-18th century; it just didn't "take".

(Despite what Google Translate does, diacritics matter. _Arany_ "gold" is a totally different word than _arány_ "proportion", and _ara_ is completely different from _ára_.)
