Here lies

our dear father, our teacher, the rabbi

MOSHE son of Reb Elchanan

He passed away 25 Nisan 5687

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

His name is preceded by an abbreviation that represents the words "our teacher, the rabbi". This means that the person had rabbinic ordination, not necessarily that he was the rabbi of a congregation. I need to point out that this abbreviation was sometimes copies from other gravestones without its meaning being understood, and I'd suggest trying to confirm his rabbinical status from a second source.

His father's name is preceded by 'Reb'; this is an honorary title, and does not mean rabbi.
