I'm hoping to get the Hebrew inscription across the top of the headstone translated. I'm hoping it includes a parent's name or Rose's Hebrew name.

Rivkah is Hebrew for Rebecca. As I wrote on a different response, there are no rules for matching Hebrew and secular names, although it was a common practice to choose names that begin with the same letter.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Aryeh Layb is a common double name. Aryeh is Hebrew; Layb is Yiddish. Both of these words mean 'lion'. Therefore, many men with this Hebrew name have an English name that means something similar, such as Leo or Leonard or related names.

Hello Amy,

For clarification....there is NO surname inscribed in Hebrew on this tombstone. Some people use the word "Mr" before the given name(s) -- in this case a double given name -- to show respect.
