This postcard was sent from Switzerland to Warsaw in 1918 (I think). I don't know who sent it or who the recipient was. If you can translate the text and postmarks I'd love to know who in my family was able to go to Switzerland from Ostrog,Poland or Radziwillow, Volynia and why they were there.

At the bottom of the card, written in French (I think), is the phrase "Suisse, Cailly sur Montreux". Also written is "hotel-pension" and 2 words I can't read. There is a town called Cailly-sur-Montreux in Switzerland, on Lake Geneva. I'm guessing that the writer was in a hotel called "Pension d---y xxx". Unfortunately, I don't have the original postcard so I don't know what image was on it. And the stamps are missing (probably because someone in my family was a stamp collector!).

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

30 July 1913 [in 1918, when most of Europe was in the terrible war, nobody was going on holidays very much]
To Fani daughter of S... Zimmerman, 33 Novolipki street, apt. 24, Warsaw

The text is about sender's holiday, hike up the mountain, stay at the English pension mentioned at the bottom (the address is as you said it except it's Chailly not Cailly), the place is really called Chailly sur Clarence, and is part of the commune of Montreux.

Here are some pictures of the pension, called L’Hôtel-Pension Mury (Castel Savoy), just about exactly at the time in question:

The writer is not identified. I imagine it's a woman but can't know for sure. The writer consistently writes we, so may be there with her husband, etc.
