Here lies

my dear wife and our dear mother

Mrs. BLUMEH daughter of Reb Manis

She passed away 3 Adar II 5681.

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

This stone has a less common term for "my wife". The usual word is "Ishti". Here it says "Ra'ayati", which has an additional connotation of "my beloved" or "darling".

A standard Hebrew year has 12 months, the last of which is called Adar. Leap years have 13 months; the twelfth is called Adar I, and the thirteenth is Adar II.
