Here lies
Our dear father
Monish son of Asher Anshil
Died 15th of Shevat 5678
May his soul be bound up in the bond of everlasting life. (acronym)

Hello Bruce,

The translation is as follows:

"Here lies our dear father, Mr. Munish/Monish Ben/(son of) Reb Asher Anshel, who died on the 15th day of the Hebrew month of Shvat (followed by the Hebrew year). May his soul be bound up in the bonds of life."

**The word "Reb" preceding his father's double name is used a title of respect, however it does NOT imply rabbi. The title for the son is clearly "Mr. Just an opinion here, but perhaps the father was more observant or traditional, while the son lived a more modern/less observant life style. Or, perhaps the father's tradition was more from the "Old Country", while the son might have been less so.
