She passed away 16 Marcheshvan 5684

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

The month of Marcheshvan is also known by the shorter name of Cheshvan.

There is a discrepancy between the Hebrew and the secular dates on the stone. They are approximately a week apart.

IF the Hebrew date is correct: the 16th of Marcheshvan of the year 5684 began at sunset on October 26th, 1923, and ended at sunset on the 27th.

If the English date is correct: On October 18th, 1923, before sunset, the equivalent Hebrew date was the 8th day of Marcheshvan, 5684. On October 18th, 1923, after sunset, the equivalent Hebrew date was the 9th day of Marcheshvan, 5684.

Do you have the secular date from another source, such as the death certificate? If yes, the time of day might be given.
