MANUSH son of Reb Avraham

He passed away 28 Adar I 5694 [this is a typo; it should be 5698].

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

In a Hebrew leap year, the standard 12th month, Adar, is replaced by two months, Adar I and Adar II.

As mentioned, there is an error in the last 'digit' of the Hebrew year. The engraver omitted part of the letter.

The 28th day of the month of Adar I of the year 5698 began at sunset on February 28th, 1938, and ended at sunset on March 1st.

(I know that the error was in the Hebrew year and not in the secular year because the year 5694 was not a leap year and thus would not have had a month called Adar I).
