Again, 'Reb' is an honorific.

One of the adjectives that describe him in the Hebrew word "tam". This word has various translations, or which I prefer to use 'simple'; it is not a derogatory term, but means that he was a plain person, who did not put on airs.

The 25th of Adar of the year 5696 began at sunset on March 18th, 1936 and ended at sunset on March 19th. There is a discrepancy, here, as this date was a Thursday according to the Hebrew calendar, yet the stone clearly states that he died on a Monday. Do you have another source for the date of death? (One possible explanation is that there is an error in the Hebrew year. The characters that represent the digits 6 and 7 are similar, and the engraver might have misread what was written. The 25th of Adar of the year 5697 was indeed a Monday. If this is the true date, then the corresponding secular date would be March 7th/8th, 1937.

There is a 'typo' on this stone, in the word for 'honored'; the third and fourth letters are reversed.

I am not familiar with the name that I have transcribed as Chiyena. If it is meant to be a nickname or diminutive of the next name, Chaya, then it would likely have been pronounced something like CHY-eh-na.

The 20th of Adar of the year 5685 -- which was indeed a Monday according to the Hebrew calendar -- began at sunset on March 15th, 1925, and ended at sunset on the 16th.

A note on these words: We try to get into the mindset of whoever composed the wording to be engraved on a loved-one's tombstone. Which of the several meanings for the word "tam" was their intention? Logically, a person wouldn't summarize a departed loved one to have been a "simple" person. We therefore go to the "other" meanings of the word "tam" to see which fits: complete, wholesome, integrity, pious, innocence. Your guess would be as good as any ViewMate translator's.
