The headstone belongs to my great-grandfather, Joseph Greenberg (1885-1960), who was likely from Russia. Is it possible that his fathers name could be found in the Hebrew inscription? our dear father

YOSEF son of Reb Elya, may he rest in peace [this refers to the father]

He passed away 25 Shvat 5720

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

His father's name is given as "Elya". This name is a bit unusual; it may be a shortened, or Yiddish, form of the name Eliyahu (Elijah). Note that 'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

The 25th of Shvat of the year 5720 began at sunset on February 22nd, 1960, and ended at sunset on the 23rd.
