If anyone can translate the tombstone inscription into English please. The tombstone should be that of Abram Izak Roth,or hebrew name Yitchak Izak Roth.

Here is the critical part of it --

Here Lies
My dear husband and our dear father
[line covered with stones]

It's Avraham, not Avram, middle name is Yehoshua, not Yitzchak.

Names on tombstones are usually preceded with the titel "Reb" which is an honorific, like Mr. Rabbis are usually called "HaRav . . ." This one says Rabbi and i'm not sure what to make of it. I cannot translate the long poem that follows.

A "shochet u'bodek" [ritual slaughterer and inspector of slaughtered meat] of the holy congregation Malma, Sweden

This is followed by an acrostic eulogy; the first letters of each line, reading down the right side, spell out his name, Avraham Yehoshua (the last line is longer than the others, and the final few words appear underneath.

His father's name is preceded by the word 'Reb', which is an honorary title and does not mean rabbi.

His own name, however, is preceded by the word "Rabi", which means rabbi. This indicates that he had rabbinic ordination, but not necessarily that he was the leader of the community. Indeed, the stone refers to his status as Shochet, which was a very respected position; there is no reference to his having led the community as their spiritual leader.

I am not sure if I have read his (or his father's?) town of origin correctly.

There is no Hebrew date of death in this image. I am wondering whether perhaps it is at the bottom of the stone, and was cut off. If you have the rest of the stone, please send me a photo, and I'll read the date for you.

And, if this is someone important to you, let me know, and I'll translate the eulogy lines.
