This was written to Zborow survivor in Melbourne from his cousin who immigrated to Israel in the 1930s upon learning the cousin had survived. It is an important and emotional family document. I read Hebrew and Yiddish, but handwriting is too difficult for me to translate. Some of my attempts are in the letter. It is only copy I have. THANK YOU.

Dear relative Leib Herman,
With great joy we heard on the radio broadcasted from the agency who search for relatives that Leib Herman in Australia is looking for his son. We went right away to the agency and asked they gave is dear Leib your address we gave them our address that we should stay in contact with the agency, and with you.
Dear relative. You certainly remember me and my even though we are 30 years in Israel.
My name is Leibish Heiman my father’s name was Chaim Mordechai and my mother’s Matel your brother Dud’ya was my ??? and your aunt Lei’tzia my mother’s sister. Those in Israel are Adya Yeger’s daughters and one son and I also have here another brother his name is Nathan we are in Israel a ??? of families. We come together every year on the Yartzeit the 20th of Tammuz we erected a memorial tombstone for the Zborow martyrs.
You certainly remember my wife Maltziya Klahr Yosef Klahr’s daughter.
Now dear relative write us what’s news with you how are thing going how long are you in Australia do you have a wife and children and also details about your son that you are looking for how long haven’t you seen him. I think that this letter will be a surprise as the only one from the family who survived that’s why we have to stay in contact.
Notice: here in Israel my name is not Heiman as in Zborow but Marder because of a law since the marriage wasn’t recorded my name is Leibish Marder.
Me and my wife send you heartfelt regards.

"Agency" is a reference to the Jewish Agency which had a "Search Bureau for Missing Relatives". For many years, Israel Radio had a a daily broadcast of requests submitted to that bureau, right after the midday news.
I remember it even in the mid-sixties.

The Latin letters are actually the Polish text that appears on birth registrations when the parents' ritual marriage was not accepted by the secular authorities. It's
Nieslubne.

Marder is therefore his mother's maiden name.

The very last word (in the vertical text) could be a Hebrew version of Leyb. Leyb is lion, and in Hebrew it would by Aryeh [the Hebrew word for lion).

A search in JRI Poland for the surnames Heiman and Marder will get you the belated marriage registration of Leib's parents in 1911 (record 7) http://agadd.home.net.pl/metrykalia/300/sygn.%202992/pages/1_300_0_0_2992_0024.htm
