This is page 1 of a letter from my grandmother Clara, possibly to her son Alfred in New York. The date of the letter is shortly before Clara and her husband's departure from Germany in March 1939. The letter may be to do with their arrival in New York and may also mention other family members. Thank you for any help with translation.

Meine liebe teure Kinder
Deine lieben Zeilen mein geliebtes Mundelchen(?) von der Reise habe ich erhalten und habe mich richtig gefreut, daß du sehen/seihen? im Kreise deiner lieben Angehörigen bist.
Ich kann mir vorstellen wie sich theuere Alfred gefreut hat wie er dich erblickt hat. Ich wünsche dir meine geliebtes Kind viel Glück in deinem neuen Heim. Geb Gott du sollst auch den/der? theuren Alfred viel Glück mitgebracht haben, den(n)er verdient es. (Es) soll ihm gut gehen. Es gibt nicht viel solche Menschen wie er ist. Der liebe Gott soll es ihm vergelten. Von uns schreibt doch die liebe Edith.Sie besorgt alle Wege und ist oft bei uns.Sie ist mein einziger Trost, sonst könnte ich verzweifeln. Bei der Steuer habe ich alles bezahlt bis August. Ich hatte viel Lauferei, Gott sei Dank, es ist erledigt.Tante Paula will(?) ich England(?.Sie hat Sachen(?) von Tante Mina(?) geschrieben(?) -end of page-

I got your nice lines/letter from your trip/voyage, dear Mundelchen(?). I was very happy to see you/ that you can be with your relatives. I can imagine how happy Alfred was as soon as he saw you. I wish you, dear child, all the best in your new home.I hope you also brought luck/happiness for/to Alfred, because he deserves it. He deserves to be well. There are not that many people like him.God bless him. Dear Edith writes about /for us.She takes care of everything and sees us often. She is my only comfort, otherwise I would despair.I paid all the taxes until August. I had to run around a lot, but thank God it's done. Tante Paula wants to go to England(?.
