You asked about the abbreviations:

At the top: Pay-Nun: Po Nikbarim, here are buried (the text can change slightly, based on the number and gender of the deceased, but the letters remain the same)

The letter Resh that appears on both sides, stands for 'Reb', which is an honorary title and does not mean rabbi.

The letters Bet-Resh that appear in front of the father's name on the right side: Ben Reb, son of Reb

The letters Zayin-Lamed that appear after the fathers' names: Zichnoro livracha, may his memory be a blessing

Louis' date of death: Yud-Alef, 10+9, = 19. The year is Taf (400) Resh (200) Samech (60), Hay (5), totalling 665. The leading '5' is not given, but is understood, making the year 5665.

Etta's date of death: Chaf-Daled, 20+4 = 24. The year is Taf (400) Resh (200) Pay (80) Tet (9), totalling 689, making the year 5689.
