Hello Everyone,
I am wondering if anyone can translate this very poor quality photograph of what I believe may be the headstone of my Great Grandfather's sister - Mary. I believe her MS was DECOFSKY or DYCHOVKSY or similar. She was the wife of Samuel Dvoretsky. She passed away on the 15th Dec 1928.

There is no direct Hebrew equivalent for the 'a' sound in the name Mary. The closest they could come was by writing "Merry"

"Reb" is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

I have given two readings of her last name. You wrote that her husband's name was Dvoretsky. However, the engraver used a character that is neither a Resh (with an R sound) nor a Lamed (with an L sound), although it shares elements with each of these.

The 2nd of Tevet of the year 5689 began at sunset on December 14th, 1928, and ended at sunset on the 15th. (In addition to being a Sabbath, it was the 8th day of Chanukah).
