Loyal brother in law Max! My greatest thanks for your writing to me. The thing you're writing me about you've put on the right track, that is, --- the main issue [left to be taken care of] of the practical work is the finances. It is this that will finalize the story. Very simply, coming with the whole family should cost 1000 dollar we don't have such a sum and even by you, in America earning such a large capital of 1000 dollar is also difficult. There's of course the question of when I would be able to give it back, because if I take money from you it will only be as a short term loan but 1000 dollars isn't easy for a newcomer to earn.

I vaguely remember from previous pages that the issue of travel, possibly Max's help with an affidavit was discussed.
