Although I cannot translate this for you, the language is definetely NOT Lithuanian. It appears to be Yiddish...Jo

My dear!
I received your letter and read it attentively. Dear brother-in-law Max! Everything you write is correct and I thank you very much. But you can trust me I also went through somewhat in my life and you always have to be careful not only while traveling. I am not a provincial, I have lived in big cities and I don't feel to much trust in unknown people. I thank you again for your detailed writing and be assured that while traveling I will not make a wrong step

I have recieved your letter and read it with great car. Dear brother in law Max everything you write is very right and I thank you greatly. Only, you can trust me I've been through some things in my life [=I'm a man of experience] and one must always be careful, not only on the way. I'm not provincial, I have indeed lived in a great city and don't trust unknown people too much. I thank you [plural] once again for your [plural] ----- writting and rest assured that I won't make any false steps on the way.

Speaking in plural to another person in Yiddish is a sign of respect. Like the French "vous".
"on the way" = while traveling from one place to the other.
