It came to pass in the town of Łomża on the 31st of December 1827 at 3:00 PM […] in the presence of witnesses, the Jews Szmul Sendrowicz Chayka, age 47, and Szmul Gerszonowicz Róża, age 71, synagogue sextons residing in Łomża, being relatives of the Jew Herszko Mortkowicz Jelonek, signed below, on this day saw a religious marriage entered into between the Jew Herszko Mortkowicz Jelonek, a bachelor, son of Mortko Lejzerowicz and Rysia Jelonek, born in the town of Łomża and residing there, age 24, and Miss Sora Zalmanówna Borkowska, daughter of Zalman and Rochla Borkowski, born in the town of Szczuczyn and residing in the town of Łomża, age 21. This wedding was preceded by three banns announced in the Łomża synagogue on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of December of the current year and by the verbal agreement of the couple’s parents who are present. This document was read out to the petitioner and to the witnesses and then signed.
