This is a letter that was sent from a woman in Bialystok - possibly a non-Jew who formerly worked for her family - to Fania, a relative of mine who escaped during the war. I will upload the next two pages as well. I'm researching the Bialystok branch of my family and would love to find out what it says.

Bialystok.
October 6th.
My Dear Ones! Are you really alive? I can't write; I don't know where to begin. On October 3rd, a Friday, I came home from work, and my husband handed me a letter: "He says it's from your mistress, read it." My eyes widened in disbelief, as if she weren't alive. But I took it to read. Believe me, my dear ones, I simply cried, unable to speak; it seemed as if my closest relatives had been resurrected. I imagine Gutia and Bela as little children, and they're already earning a living. When will I hear from my son? Dear Mrs. Movshovskaya, I'll describe how I ended up in Bialystok. In 1944, during the German retreat, our entire Berestovitsa burned down, including our apartment, so we emerged as we stood. My husband was hiding from the Germans because they were taking all the men with them.
