I would be grateful for a translation of as much of the inscription as possible, especially the name of the individual and his father.

Please note that I have also submitted an alternative image (ViewMate ID 115150).

8/18/2026 12:40 AM He had a double name but only one is legible
______ Elimelech Hettleman
8/18/2026 8:45 AM I'm not sure if I am imagining the letters or not, but I think I see "Peretz" before "Elimelech"
8/18/2026 8:53 AM I see מו''ה at the end of a line and then the name ? Elimelech Hettleman. This would almost certainly be the father, and if I am reading correctly he is referred to as "our teacher the Rabbi", this title usually signifies a learned and highly regarded Torah scholar but there are exceptions.
8/18/2026 1:07 PM I see the word "bar" immediately before "Elimelech", in smaller text. This would make Elimelech the father.

At the beginning of this line, preceding "bar", is what is presumably (part of?) the name of the deceased.

The letters that a different helper has suggested might be an abbreviation for "our teacher, the rabbi", might also be the last letters of a name, such as Yirmiyah (although probably not that exact name).

Do you have the secular date of death? The month appears to be Av (July/August), and the last digit of the year appears to be a 2 (between 1852 and 1932).
8/18/2026 7:22 PM Father is probably Zvi Elimelech GITELMAN, who was a renowned chassidic rabbi of Dynow (author of Bnei Yisoschar), who died in 1841 (5601). The year (which looks like Av 5622 or 5682) may not match though.
