This is page 1 of a four page letter from Barish Gellman, a brother who returned to Ukraine, to his brother Gus Gellman, who remained in the USA and lived in University City, Missouri.

This is difficult to read, but I can try to do a bit at a time. Do you have the original, and can you have it scanned? This looks like an old photocopy and it's not very clear. A colour scan is best.

On the 24th of August I received your letter and I am giving you a quick answer. Dear brother, I think all day shabbos I ---read the letter. What you write that the brothers died. Such handsome, healthy people, Itzhak and --- such an ailment they had -- they couldn't be saved, and what a --- they died and who died. I beg you write me everything in detail. With brother Barech there were no children. --- Freya Barech's wife was a --- of ours, our aunt Fayga's daughter. I was at Aunt Fayga and Santel's --- with them are 2 girls. They were still with them when I was in America. What is Itzhak's wife doing. The brother once wrote me that his 2 sons were in the was, and a daughter --- and we received a letter from her written in English. What are our sisters doing, Rayza and Golda? Send me their addresses. Do you see brother Gedalia sometimes? My nephews Michal Zabevetsh, Leib Zabevetsh. Uncle's children, Motels Gellman.
