On  Response
7/23/2026 6:20 PM Other than words of praise about his honesty in business dealings, all I can make out is that his name was YEHUDA, or possibly YEHUDA LAYB. The symbol of the tribe of Yehuda was a lion, and Layb is the Yiddish word for lion, so this makes sense, given the image of a lion at the top of the stone. I cannot make out his father's name, and the only part of the date of death that I can see is Iyar, which is a spring month. He appears to have died either on the first day of Iyar, or on a Sunday in Iyar.

If you have any other images of the stone, I might be able to make out other relevant details.
