Rabbi Traeger founded a hospital in the town of Druzenik.

The letter is a request to a foundation that had been sponsoring the hospital in Druzgenik with three Hebrew journals (HaMaggid, HaMelits, HaTsefira) every year as well as a Russian journal (either Voskhod or Ruskii Evrei). That year, the complete HaMelits for the year 1882 did not arrive and the journal's editor did not respond. Treger asks that the foundation continue sponsoring the journals as previously.
The letter is addressed to "the respected doctor" – his name is not given.
