The Hebrew name Rachel is pronounced rah-CHELL in Sephardic/modern Hebrew pronunciation, and RAW-chell in traditional Ashkenazic. The ch is pronounced as in Chanukah or Bach.

Leah is pronounced LAY-ah.

Reb is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Dov is Hebrew for bear. Some men with this Jewish name have a secular name that sounds similar, such as Bernard, Barry, etc.

It is relatively uncommon for the name of a woman's husband to appear on her stone. When it does appear, this often implies that he was a prominent member of the Jewish community.

The first part of her husband's name was Nechemya, which was the name of a Biblical prophet (rendered as Nehemias in secular form). The second part of his name is difficult to read, but it begins with an M sound. Possibly Meir [may-eer].

The 7th of Tishri, 5691, corresponds to the 28th/29th of September, 1930.
