Mrs. CHAYA LEAH

daughter of Reb Feivel

She passed away 28 Adar II

5703

May her soul be bound up in the bond of life.
===================================================
Chaya [pronounced CHAH-yah, with the ch as in Chanukah or Bach] is a Hebrew name that means "alive."

Leah [LAY-ah] is a Biblical name.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Feivel [FIGH-v'l] is a Yiddish name. Even though there are no rules for having religious and secular names correspond, I have often seen the name Philip paired with Feivel.

In a Jewish leap year, the standard twelfth month, Adar, is replaced with two months, Adar I and Adar II.

The 28th day of the month of Adar II in the year 5703 corresponds to April 3rd/4th, 1943.

The family name, Siegal, MIGHT indicate that her husband was a Levite.
