Jerusalem, 1 Narch 1948
My dear sister, I got your writing from the 16th of March and can't read enough of it. Your dear words stream so much goodness to me that they make me even in this dark time simply delighted!

I hope you've received my telegram and my short letter after the catastrophe in Jerusalem ( I was Lucky together with Ellie Schneider. We were in the street and today the street is in ruins) As far as safety is concerned, we are in God's hand. 0here's no place one can hide from death when death is what fate decrees.
There are new hardships for me now. They don't let men up to 40 years old out here and one has to have a special permission from the Jewish agency and we probably need lots of special "protection" to get this permission to travel
