I need help with this headstone inscription. A full transcript or translation would be amazing. Thanks a lot for your time!

This is an interesting acrostic poem of praise, where the first letters of the text (at the right) spell out the name of the deceased, Eliyahu, and the last letters of the text (at the left) spell out his father's name, Yosef.

A man who was called by the name of the "Tishbi".

He prepared his path to rest in the shade of G-d.

He stretched out his hand to the destitute and cared for the poor.

He is ELIYAHU son of the honored Yosef.

He returned to his earth on the 25th of Elul

in the year 5609.

May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

Eliyahu is Hebrew for Elijah. In the Bible, Elijah was know as "Eliyahu the Tishbi", or Tishbite.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

The 25th of Elul, 5609, corresponds to September 11th/12th, 1849.

This is about your other post, 114644. I'm afraid that all I can make out is part of the name: Yehuda. He might have been a rabbi.
