Akta 7 is my great-great-great-great-great-grandmother’s 1834 death record from Rypin, Płock, Poland. I would like it translated in full (or at least everything that isn’t the standard wording of a death record).

Names that I would expect to see in the text are:
- the deceased: Raca/Ratze GROTSZTEYN/GROSSZTEYN.
- her father: Rubin?
- her husband: Lewin GROTSZTEYN.
- her son: Rubin GROTSZTEYN.

How lucky to find a record for this old an ancestor! Here is all the relevant information:

Death: 12 August 1834, 4 a.m. [4:00]

Deceased: Race [pronounced “Ratze”] GROTSZTEYN, residing here in Rypin, 72 years old, daughter of deceased parents with unknown given names and surnames

Surviving Relative: Her widowed husband, Lewin GROTSZTEYN

Declarant [unusual for a death record]: Lewin GROTSZTEYN/GROTSZTEJN, day-laborer, residing here in Rypin, 70 years old, husband of the deceased

Witnesses: Szmul ZYLBERSZTEYN, synagogue sexton, 30 years old; and Leyzer REYCH, hospital worker, 56 years old; both residing here in Rypin

7. It took place on the twentieth day of November in the year of eighteen thirty-four, at the hour of two in the afternoon, in the Town of Rypin. Appeared personally the Jew Lewin Grotsztejn, a day-labourer, residing here in the town of Rypin, seventy years of age, companioned by the Jew Szmul Zylberszteyn, a shammes, thirty years of age, and Leyzer Reych, a hospital worker, fifty-six years of age, both residing here in the town of Rypin, and stated that Race Grotszteyn, seventy-two years of age, residing here in Rypin, the daughter of the parents whose given names and surnames were not remembered, both not alive anymore, had deceased on the twelfth day of August of the current year, at the hour of four in the morning, leaving behind her her widowed husband Lewin Grotsztejn. This record was read aloud to the appearers, of whom the first was the husband of the deceased and the last two were the witnesses, and subsequently signed by them and by me, civil registrar.
