The attached photo -a winter skating scene of high school students-includes a relative, Eliyahu Miler who was living with the family in Kovno, Lithuania at the time this photo was taken.

We would like a translation of the Yiddish handwriting on the back of the photo.

Line 2 - "Shalom Aleichem" - Peace to You

Line 3 - Lithin, Kovne (probably Kovno Lithuania)

"Shalom Aleichem", which translates to "peace be upon you" is also used as a standard greeting of "Hello".

it's Hebrew.
The correct translation is
Students of the "Shalom Aleychem" Gymnasium
Lithuania, Kovna.

On top, pencilled faintly: Bramson.

[Comments]
"Students of xxxx" in Hebrew is Talmiday xxxx" in ends with the sound you find in English word "day"

Since the Hebrew in not vowelized, the first readers / translators mistook it for either
Talmidi [my student] or Talmidye [like the English word "dye"
Has anyone wanted to write "my student/s" the sentence structure / placement of the words would have been different.
