I have a series of photos of gravestones I took when I traveled to Kopaihorod in the early 1990s. Please excuse the amateur quality of them. On some I am aware that only part of the inscription is visible. Please translate the Hebrew and or Russian as appropriate. Many thanks.

Reb ELIYAHU son of Reb

Chaim David, he passed away 9/27/28 [?] Tishri [?]

5694. May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

Reb is an honorific. It does not mean rabbi.

Eliyahu [eh-lee-YAH-hoo] is Elijah

Chaim [CHAH-yim, with the ch as in Chanukah or Bach] is the Hebrew word for life.

The condition of the stone makes it difficult to read the date. It looks most like: 9, 27, or 28. The month looks most like Tishri.

The 9th of Tishri, 5694, corresponds to September 28th/29th, 1933. The 27th of Tishri would be the 16th/17th of October, and the 28th would be the 17th/18th of October. These are educated guesses, and I could be way off, but the year is definitely 5694, which ran from approximately September 1933 to September 1934.
