I have a series of photos of gravestones I took when I traveled to Kopaihorod in the early 1990s. Please excuse the amateur quality of them. On some I am aware that only part of the inscription is visible. Please translate the Hebrew and or Russian as appropriate. Many thanks.

The left edge of the stone is cut off. If you have a more complete photo, please send it to me. (Actually, the top is cut off, too. It might contain the abbreviation for "here lies".)

Meanwhile, this is what I can read:

A tree of weeping.

All who pass by will shed a tear

upon the beauty that is now [in the dust]

[At the right and left edges, the date of death, beginning with the year split into two parts:}

56 9_

[followed by;]

died 6 Iyar May his soul be bound up in the bond of life.

In the framed area:

Reb Avraham Tzvi son of Reb Heshie [?] Natteh

Peace to his dust, he will rest and he will rise to his lot at the end [of days]

This is an interesting stone.

I have seen the phrase "tree of weeping" before, but the stone always included an engraving of a tree. (Perhaps there is one at the top of the stone?).

I have never before seen a Star of David with a circle inside.

The line "upon the beauty that is now ..." is written in Aramaic. It was new to me and a bit difficult to find in a source, particularly as it is incomplete. It comes from a story in the Talmud.

'Reb' is an honorific.

The name of the deceased is Hebrew: Avraham being Abraham and Tzvi meaning deer.

The name of his father is Yiddish. The second part is "Natteh", probably derived from the Hebrew name Natan. The first part is one I have not seen before. Using Yiddish pronunciation conventions, it would appear to be "Heshie" or "Hesh-ye". It might also be a Yiddish derivation of the name Yeshaya (Isaiah) or Yehoshua (Joshua) or Hoshea (Hosea).

There is a cut-off word at the left edge of the stone near the bottom, in smaller font.

Based on the year of death at the bottom of the stone, 1936, the missing digit in the Hebrew year is a 6, making the Hebrew date of death the 6th of Iyar, 5696, which corresponds to April 27th/28th, 1936.
