Akta 4 is my great-great-great-grandmother’s brother’s 1857 marriage record from Zaręby Kościelne, Łomża, Poland. I would like it translated in full (or at least everything that isn’t the standard wording of a marriage record).

Names that I would expect to see in the text are:

- the groom: Wolf WAJNTROB;
- his father: Abram/Abraham WAJNTROB;
- his mother: Mirka Idźkowicz;
- the bride: Chana Jochwa SEGAŁOWICZ daughter of Izrael.

Groom: Wolf Abramowicz WAYNTROB aged 24, single, born in
Zaręby Kościelne, son of Abram and Mirka Herszkowiczów WAYNTROB, labourers.

Bride: Chana Jochwa Izraelowicz SEGAŁOWICZ, aged 21, single, daughter of Izrael and Laia Leyzorowiczów SEGAŁOWICZ, born in Suwałki and residing with parents in Zaręby Kościelne.

Witnesses: Herszek Leybowicz DONIEL?? aged 58 and Josek Haimowicz WAYNGART aged 53, synagogue sextons residing in Zaręby Kościelne.

It took place on the thirtieth day of June in the year of eighteen fifty-seven, at the hour of three in the afternoon, in Koszuty, in the office of the Civil Registrar for Non-Christian Religion in the District of Zareby Koscielne.

No. 4. Zaremby Koscielne. We make known that on the twenty-fifth day of June of the current year, at the hour of nine in the evening, in Zaremby Koscielne, in the presence of witnesses, the Jews Herszek Leybowicz Donicki, fifty-eight years of age, and Josek Haimowicz Wayngart, fifty-three years of age, both shammeses, both residing in Zaremby Koscielne, as is proved by the verbal statement of the Jew Icek Szaykowicz Luzym, an assistant rabbi, who is now present, the marriage was religiously contracted in Zaremby Koscielne between the Jews Wolf Abramowicz Wayntrob, according to the birth certificate twenty-four years of age, single, the son of the Jews Abram Wayntrob and Mirka Wayntrob the daughter of Herszek, making a living as a day-labourer, born in Zaremby Koscielne, and Chana Jochwak Segalowicz the daughter of Izrael, bearing a double given name, single, twenty-one years of age, the daughter of the Jews Izrael Segalowicz and Leia Segalowicz the daughter of Leyzor, born in the town of Suwalki, residing with her parents in Zaremby Koscielne. This marriage had been preceded by three banns, which had been proclaimed on feast days in the synagouge in Zaremby Koscielne, namely the first ones on the eleventh day of April, the second ones on the eighteenth day of April, and the third ones on the twenty-fifth day of April, of the current year. Also, the verbal consent of the parents of male appearer and female appearer, who are present, had occurred. No objections had been raised by anyone to the marriage. The newlyweds stated that they had not made any agreement before a notary. After that, the act relating to this contracted marriage was read aloud to the appearers and witnesses and subsequently signed by the assistant rabbi and civil registrar. The appearers and witnesses could not write.
