(By the way, this is Hebrew, not Yiddish. The vast majority of Jewish headstones are written in Hebrew).

Bashe [pronounced BAH-sheh] is a Yiddish name.

'Reb' is an honorific; it does not mean rabbi.

Dov is Hebrew for bear. SOME men with this name have a secular name that sounds similar to bear, such as Bernard, Barry, etc.
