Hi,
These are the birth and death records of Szmaja Nusbaum from 1833. He was the son of Herszek Nusbaum and the grandson of Izrael Nusbaum, both of whom are mentioned in these records.
Herszek is listed as 'Herszek Izrael Nusbaum', so I assumed it functioned like 'Herszek Izraelowicz Nusbaum' because of his father’s name. Izrael Nusbaum is listed as 'Izrael Jacob Nusbaum', so I am unsure if I can assume that 'Jacob' meant 'Jacobowicz', or if it might be his middle name.
I would be happy to know if anyone has seen this kind of naming, the father's name used without adding 'wicz'.
In addition, I would like to understand the house number of Izrael Nusbaum that is mentioned in the records.

Hello,
I do not believe I have seen this particular type of naming before without the typical patronymic endings. However, I think it is fair to assume regardless that these are indeed patronymics. We know that Herszek's father was named Izrael, and it would be highly unlikely that he would have a middle name that was the same as his father's name. Also, the names written at the bottom of the records next to the signatures do not have the supposed "middle names" included, which further suggests they are patronymics. I would be reasonably confident that Izrael's father is Jakób, although Izrael's death record would hopefully confirm this.

In both records, Izrael is residing in House No. 40.
