Oh, figured it out. ("I just did this, where'd it go?"): this is a duplicate of VM 114285.

The birthplace is Nyirmegyes (nowadays spelled with a long 'gy': Nyirmeggyes). Compare the vowels in _izraelita_ and _háztartás_ -- and in any case, there's no such place as "Nyirmagyar". While "Magyar" is a very common prefix in placenames, the only occurrence as a second/main element was a pair of villages in Pozsony county (Nagymagyar and Kismagyar). (There's no "Nyirmegyer", either; Megyer in Szabolcs is disambiguated as Vasmegyer, confusingly [because Vas is a county on the other side of the country].)
