This foundational reference work provides a comprehensive list and biographies of 3,829 Jewish individuals in America (including Canada up to 1783) during the 17th and 18th centuries, drawing from extensive manuscript and published sources to detail birth/death dates, places, and careers, offering unmatched insight into early American Jewish life.
Features entries ranging from brief mentions of transients to detailed summaries of prominent figures, providing biographical data where available. Involvement during the Revolutionary War is noted where applicable.
