Files From the Notarial Archive of the Spanish Portuguese in Amsterdam

Background

Many Spanish and Portuguese Crypto Jews made their way to Amsterdam and when there, took back
their original Jewish names yet continued to use aliases in business and other sectors.

This collection has sources of the notarial records where this information was located and it is
priceless in allowing a researcher to follow the lineage with a Portuguese name and then a Jewish name.
Many of these continued on to Germany and other countries.
