Synagogue/Society Description: Temple Sons of Israel was chartered in DuBois, Pa. in 1894. The congregation purchased a former church on Morrison Street in 1911 and dedicated the building as a synagogue the following year. The congregation dedicated a "community center" addition to the building in 1943. Temple Sons of Israel sold its synagogue building in early 2023. The congregational records were sent to the Rauh Jewish Archives in Pittsburgh. The congregational memorial boards were sent to Beth Sholom Congregation in Johnstown, Pa. The boards were initially photographed and transcribed in 2008 by Richard Levine and were updated in 2023 by Rauh Jewish Archives Director Eric Lidji.
