Monument for the Fallen Brazilian Soldiers of WW II,  Parque do Flamengo - Glória, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1 plaque total.

Brazil sent 25 thousand men, 70 nurses and 50 warplanes to Italy, 1944/45. Of them, some 30 were Jews. The Monument includes 500 matzeivot, but no Jews. The only Jew who lost his life in WW2 was Mauricio Jose Pinkusfeld, a sailor of the Merchant Navy. His ship was torpedoed by the Nazi sub U-507 in Aug/1942, and his body was never recovered. His name is in the Wall of the Mausoleum, togheter with more 2 thousand of sailors, soldiers and civilian passengers disappeared in the 3o+ Brazilian ships sunk by the Nazi and Italian fascist submarines.
