The Genealogical Research Division of

Lublin Marriages (1939-1942)
Introduction by: Nolan Altman

Background

A register of Jewish marriages from the city of Lublin, Poland during the Holocaust period, was found by a Gesher Galicia volunteer, filed away in the Polish State Archives branch in Przemysl. (Lublin is not in Galica.) No one knows how it got there or why it was stored there. Upon finding the register, JewishGen volunteers indexed the records and added it to JewishGen's Holocaust Collection.

Database

This database includes marriage records for 592 Lubliner marriages. The fields for this database are as follows:

  • Akt#
  • Groom's Surname
  • Groom's Given Name(s)
  • Bride's Surname
  • Bride's Given Name(s)
  • Date of Marriage
  • Source (Register page)

Acknowledgments

The information contained in this database was indexed from a register incorrectly stored in the Polish State Archives branch in Przemysl. The database was created by Jola Kruszniewska, Robert Lubinski, and Eugene Steingold.
