Bardejov, Slovakia Deportees
This database contains 2,468 Jewish names from city of Bardejov, taken from registration sheets of the Jews of Bardejov (also spelled Bardiov), in Slovakia; formerly Bártfa, Sáros, Hungary. This forced registration was done by the Slovak government before their deportation to concentration camps in Poland.
The list of Jews was compiled based on the §6 of Law 198/1941, requiring all police stations across the country to register all Jews and produce 3 different category sheets as per following criteria:
The registration sheets are kept in the Slovak National Archive in Bratislava; the only exception is the list from Bardejov, whose copies have been donated to the LDS by Abraham Grüssgott. The complete Bardejov material is available on LDS film 1183504, Items 3-4.
