Ahavas Achim Cemetery, Rippel Rd off Center Street (Opp 2090 Rippel Rd), White Oak, PA, USA. 9 burials total.
The Ahavas Achim Cemetery was created by a small congregation Ahavas Achim which broke away one of the local synagogues (either Gemilas Chesed of McKeesport or McKeesport congregation Anshe Ungarn) between 1892 and 1897. The group later merged (around 1930) into Gemilas Chesed ending the use of the this small cemetery. The Burials that have been identified from the headstones cover a period from 1902 to 1924.
The cemetery which had been lost and was not kept up was restored between 2018 and 2020 by local volunteers and in 2020 handed over to the care of Jewish Cemetery and Burial Association of Greater Pittsburgh, a nonprofit which cares for and helps preserve Jewish cemeteries in the region. Ahavas Achim Cemetery is located on Rippel Road near the intersection with Center Street in White Oak and is visible behind a stone wall that runs along the edge of Rippel Road for approx. 100 feet. Ahavas Achim Cemetery was previously listed here as Ripple Road Jewish Cemetery.
