The B'nai Israel Cemetery was established in 1871 by the Jewish population of Petaluma in Sonoma County. The cemetery entrance is located on Magnolia Avenue, but the wrought-iron gates are usually locked. To enter the cemetery continue down Magnolia Avenue a short distance until you reach the entrance to Cypress Hills Memorial Park. Drive to the office and chapel and on the right will be the B'nai Israel Cemetery. Tombstone readings were taken in January 1997 by Julian H.
