This is the only consecrated Jewish cemetery on the Isle of Man, a British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea. The Jewish Section is situated on the northeast corner of the main municipal cemetery. Burials date from 1940 and initally a majority of those interred were refugees who had fled Nazi persecution only to be were interned on the island by the British authorities.
