Lambton Hills Cemetery was established in 1910 by Congregation Knesseth Israel. Individual parcels of land were subsequently sold to other congregations and organizations, such that it is today comprised of individual sections serving 13 synagogues/organizations. Each section is independently owned and operated. The cemetery lands are accessed via an unpaved roadway on the east side of Royal York Road, immediately north of Bell Royal Court.
This section is located at the north end of the cemetery property and can be accessed via the driveway adjacent to 1291 Royal York Road. The section consists of three areas: west, north, and south. The south area consists of the east/west lines of graves to the west of the walkway in front of section 3. The lines are sequenced from letter A onwards, starting at the rear (north end) of the section (adjacent to the walkway steps, and in line with a large tree). Graves are numbered sequentially from east to west. The north area consists of the east/west lines of graves at the centre north end of the cemetery property, north of the sourh area. The lines are sequenced from letter A onwards, starting at the rear (north end) of the section (in front of the fence). Graves are numbered sequentially from east to west. The west area consists of the north/south lines of graves to the west of the north area, along the western border of the cemetery property, north of section 2, extending eastward until the large boulders (at both the north and south of the section) delineating the border with the section 2 extension. Graves are numbered sequentially from south to north.
Headstone photographs are current as of June 2021. Please contact cemetery@JGSToronto.ca to request copies of headstone photographs (which may include older and/or higher-resolution versions); please provide the decedent's name, section, and grave number. Headstone photographs for more recent burials can also be requested at this address and will be fulfilled when possible.
