Moravian Property Registers

Background

The Moravian Archives in Brno has made available various 19th century record books and property registers for Jewish communities. These include not only real property records (deeds, mortgages and transfers) for Jewish houses, but also synagogue seats (male and female), which were treated as property and therefore recorded for transfers of ownership. A list of registers is available here.
