 Attached is the birth record of Icek Josef Brocki (akta 585), my great-grandfather, born in 1902, in Lodz, to Szmul Majer Brocki and Sara Bajla Guttmann. Some sources argue he was born in 1898.

Явился Шмуль Маер Броцкий, 57 лет, работник, постоянный житель города Лодзь в присутствии свидетелей Габриэля Сегала, местного подраввина , Мошка Калинского ,35 лет и Абрама Хобера, 52 года, местных божничных служителей и предъявил нам ребенка женского пола, объявляя ,что он родился в Лодзи 6/18 июня 1886 в 2 часа ночи от жены Байли Суры (Байля Сура) , урождённой Гутман, 45 лет. Ребенку этому дано имя Руда. Затем акт этот прочитан нами и участвующими подписан. Отец заявил, что по семейным обстоятельствам с заявлением опоздал и неграмотен.

Shmul Mayer Brotsky, a 57-year-old laborer and permanent resident of the city of Łódź, appeared—in the presence of witnesses Gabriel Segal (a local assistant rabbi), Moshko Kalinsky (aged 35), and Abram Khober (aged 52)—and presented a female child. He declared that the child was born in Łódź on June 6/18, 1886, at 2:00 a.m., to his wife, Bayla Sura (née Gutman), aged 45. The child was given the name Ruda.
This record was then read aloud by us and signed by those present. The father stated that he had delayed making this declaration due to family circumstances and that he is illiterate.

He declared that the child was born in Łódź on April 10/22, 1889, at 5:00 a.m., to his wife, Bayla Sura (née Gutman), aged 40 (in record 583, her age is listed as 45).
Upon his circumcision, the child was given the name Abram Khil.
This record was then read aloud by us and signed by those present. The father stated that he had delayed making this declaration due to family circumstances and that he is illiterate.
